It all started on Thursday, one of my days off from work. I wasn't feeling very good and had an upset stomach. Not like an upset stomach where you are nauseated or those other terrible things happen that go along with it, but just a feeling of uneasiness. Anyway, Friday morning, I woke up at 5 a.m. to my sons out in the living room discussing how the Christmas tree was gone. (It was cute and made me smile.) Jesse got out of bed to put them back to sleep and within 20 minutes I was in severe pain. Excruciating pain in my left side. I couldn't walk, I couldn't sit, Jesse massages weren't doing anything to calm the pain down, and not even a heating pad was helping. All I could do was lay on my stomach, feeling like my spine was going to snap from how tense my body was, and hysterically crying. Jesse and I both decided that we had to go to the hospital and around this time it was about 6:30 a.m.
We get to the hospital and they are starting to put my IV in so they can give me some stuff to help with the nausea and some morphine for the pain when my body decides to throw up. I knew it was going to happen and even said that I needed a pan, but they probably didn't hear me since I was really weak, and so I ended up holding out my hand. Yeah, I know, not the best story to be telling. As soon as I got the morphine, I was in such a better place. Thank goodness! They did a CT scan and saw that I had some kidney stones, an infection, a calcium deficiency, and a larger than normal cyst on one of my ovaries. Gotta love it. I don't know if any of you have had to deal with kidney stones, but I rather be in labor about to have a baby then deal with those.
Jesse spent Friday with the boys and I spent the rest of the day in bed sleeping. New Years Eve, I spent the whole morning sleeping and in pain. I finally felt a bit better in the afternoon and didn't want the whole day to go to waste so Jesse and I decided to see a movie. I thought it would be fun to see New Years Eve since it was at the cheap seats and it would make it feel more like New Years Eve. The movie was really cute and had a ton of actors in it. After the movie, we spent some time over at Jesse's parents place visiting and then headed home where we spent the rest of the night with our friend Tyson and watching movies.
One of these years we will get more ambitious about New Years Eve and throw a party or go to one.....and as the kids get older we will bang pots and pans outside like I did when I was kid, but until then I am okay with how we spent the holiday this year even if I wasn't feeling the best. I hope you all had a wonderful time and I wish you the best new year!
Awe. Our cute New Years kiss.

I'm glad that the day went well! I love New Year's "kiss" pictures but I always forget to take the picture.
