The New Year

We said goodbye to the year 2011 and welcomed the year 2012! I am honestly happy to say adios to last year. We didn't have any major things happen, but I wouldn't say it was the best.

New Years day I felt pretty good so I cooked a small turkey and made all the fixings to go with it, and invited my parents over for dinner. After dinner, they watched The Jungle Book 2 with the boys.....which we've been watching almost every day and sometimes twice a day. I think it's time to hide it. Later in the evening we went over to a friends house and played a fun game of Monopoly and actually finished it!!! It was a pretty good day.

Just a few things that happened this year:
Caleb turned 3 and Kylar turned 2. (No more little babies.) Jesse and I celebrated 5 years of marriage. I turned the BIG 25. Which I dreaded, I just felt sick about turning 25. I guess it means I am going towards 30 and I am just not ready for that. Jesse was laid off from two of his jobs, but still is staying tough and always manages to get another one. Jesse is also working towards being a licensed insurance agent! My sister Kristin welcomed a little girl into the world. The first ever grand-daughter. We had an amazing Summer with our friends and family. Caleb FINALLY got potty trained and it's been the best thing ever! Caleb also got his first cut that was deep enough to go to the emergency room. So, just a few little things, but still big enough to remember.

I don't usually make New Years resolutions since I never can keep them, so I just make a list that I can look forward to accomplishing each year even if it's just checking off a few. I always try to better myself as a person, a friend, a daughter, sister, a wife, and as a mother all the time. I don't know how well I have succeeded, but I at least try. =) However, I have been thinking about the things I want to make happen this year so here is a list of a few:
Exercise every other day on my treadmill and Wii Fit. My mission is to lose 30 lbs. and I will do it!! Give up soda, which I am going on 4 days now. Dance for a 100 days like Kirstie Alley, which you can find the article here, I will just do 30 minutes a day at home. I want to take at least one trip some where new this year as a family. I want to read at least 5 books this year, I am sure I will read more, but it's hard to find a book that really catches my attention so I am on the look out. Take more photos with my camera, take a new family photo of us, and to gather all my family and get a family photo done. I want to get more crafty and do some crafts. I have a sewing machine that hasn't left it's box. This Summer I want to go swimming more often, I can't remember the last time I have gone swimming. I would also like to take more trips to Utah to visit my mother and sisters. So those are just a few things I would like to do this year. I have plenty others that I are just mini that will be easily accomplished. My main focus is and always has been since I have become a Mother is my children. I want to be the best mother to them that I can be, I want to teach them things, and give them as much love that I am capable of giving. I want them to always feel loved and cared for. Who knows....maybe a third child could happen this year.

I have enjoyed having a blog. It's been great to write about our memories, our adventures, and whatever else there is for me to blog about. I am grateful that we have technology like this so I can create a memory book so that I can look back on it years down the road and so my children can read about it when they get older. Thank you to my friends and family who love to read about our life. I love keeping up with all of your blogs as well.......looking forward to reading about the year 2012.

Happy New Year!
